3 Days Sossusvlei From Windhoek Tour

Sossusvlei

Activity Description

Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Namib Desert on this unforgettable 3-Day Sossusvlei Safari from Windhoek. Journey through one of the world’s oldest deserts and discover Namibia’s most iconic landscapes, from towering red sand dunes and ancient clay pans to dramatic mountain passes and spectacular desert sunsets.

Stay for two nights at the comfortable Namib Desert Lodge (or similar accommodation), perfectly positioned for exploring the world-famous Sossusvlei region. Your guided excursion takes you deep into the Namib-Naukluft National Park, where you’ll witness the magnificent dunes of Sossusvlei, walk among the ancient camel thorn trees of Deadvlei and explore the remarkable Sesriem Canyon carved by the Tsauchab River over millions of years.

Whether you’re a nature lover, photographer or first-time visitor to Namibia, this safari offers an unforgettable introduction to one of Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders.

Day 1 – Windhoek to the Namib Desert

Depart Windhoek in the morning and travel south through the scenic Khomas Highlands towards the Namib Desert. Enjoy spectacular views of Namibia’s changing landscapes as you journey through mountain passes, wide open plains and remote desert scenery before arriving at Namib Desert Lodge. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge and admire the surrounding fossilised dunes glowing in shades of gold and red as the sun sets over the desert.

Day 2 – Sossusvlei, Deadvlei & Sesriem Canyon

Rise before sunrise for one of Namibia’s most iconic experiences. Travel into the Namib-Naukluft National Park as the early morning light illuminates the towering red dunes of Sossusvlei. Climb one of the famous dunes or simply admire the incredible desert landscape before continuing to Deadvlei, where centuries-old camel thorn trees stand against a backdrop of brilliant orange dunes and deep blue skies. Later, visit Sesriem Canyon, a fascinating natural gorge carved over millions of years, before returning to the lodge for your final evening beneath Namibia’s spectacular star-filled skies.

Day 3 – Return to Windhoek

After breakfast, enjoy a final view of the Namib Desert before beginning the scenic drive back to Windhoek. Travel through the beautiful Khomas Highlands and arrive in the afternoon, bringing your Sossusvlei safari to a memorable conclusion.
